Stan Karwoski

Stan Karwoski – Washington County Commissioner, is past 622 Education Foundation Board President and long-standing Board member.

Karwoski, 1st elected Washington County Commissioner – District 2 in a special election in November 2016 and was re-elected in 2018. A native of St. Paul and has lived in Oakdale since 1987. He and his wife Linda, raised four adult children, all through the ISD 622 educated K thru 12 and has five grandchildren. Stan, is a retired 38+ year employee of Graco, Inc., where he was a Principal Designer and was awarded nine invention patents.

Karwoski, was also elected to the Oakdale City Council serving from 2001-2014. Elected Oakdale Mayor in 2014 serving as Mayor till 2016 when he was elected to the Washington Board of Commissioners. Stans start to elected office, was his appointment to the Oakdale’s Planning & Park Commission in the mid 1990’s. Regarding education experience, Stan has participated in ISD 622 strategic planning, served as an inner-city elementary student reading tutor, and a High School robotics mentor.

Stan was motivated to serve on the Education Foundation when his kids all graduated from Tartan High School, as it served his desire to stay involved in local public education.
