Programs with a Purpose

The 622 Education Foundation has two primary programs that we champion to support students in the North St. Paul / Maplewood / Oakdale school district: (1) The Award of Excellence, and (2) The Angel Fund.

622 Education Foundation Award of Excellence

The 622 Education Foundation Award of Excellence recognizes and celebrates graduating seniors in the district that stand out in one or more qualities. As a successor to our previous STA2RS award, this award lifts up students that excel in achievement, community, courage, imagination, integrity and resilience. We retired the STA2RS award this year after much thought and in close coordination with our superintendent, high school principals, and district liaisons. To describe this award best, let’s hear from students and teachers in our district!

The Angel Fund

The 622 Education Foundation Angel Fund assists students whose families are facing financial hardship. Our Foundation gathers donations from community members, like you, to contribute to students in need of glasses, clothing, school supplies, medicine, and many other additional necessities.

The 622 Education Foundation works directly with our social workers from each school to recognize the needs of students in our district. A great example this winter was the disbursement of 115 pairs of winter boots, 70 winter hats and a number of snow pants across the 13 different schools in our district, helping with the basic need – to stay warm when going to and from school. The Angel Fund is available thanks to our sustaining donors, who help our 622 Education Foundation make an equitable impact in our district every day.

GrantEd Program

The GrantEd program provides monetary awards to encourage, facilitate, and enhance educational opportunities for District 622 students.  Up to 10 $500 grants will be given for the 2023-2024 school year! All ISD622 staff are eligible to apply. This is yet another way that the 622 Education Foundation works to improve our district and the lives of our students and staff.
